Momo Hub, a restaurant that opened its first location in Clarksville, MD in 2022, will open its second location as part of Commas Food Hall in Ellsworth Place (Silver Spring), according to a report by Source of the Spring.
Nim Ali, an upcoming restaurant offering “traditional Guatemalan street food flavors, including the 12″ Shuko Chingon made with beef, ham, bacon, al pastor, steak, chorizo, cilantro aioli, and spicy picamas, as well as other snacks and plates”, is coming soon to Commas Food Hall in Silver Spring (according to a report by Source of the Spring).
Back in March 2023, we reported that Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet would be taking over the space that was recently home to Miller’s Ale House and previously home to Hooters and Shakey’s at 1471 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Then, in December 2023, signage for Umi Sushi was replaced by signage for Raku AYCE Sushi & Seafood Buffet, before eventually changing back to Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet earlier this year.
Good Fortune Cafe, which has been serving the area since 1994 (according to its website), will be closing at the end of August.
Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar at 203 Crown Park Ave in Gaithersburg closed permanently at 3pm on Sunday, May 26. The reason we were provided by management was “lease disagreement and rent increase.”
Classic Bakery will be opening a new location at 18195 Village Center Dr. in Olney- the bakery’s third overall, adding to Gaithersburg and Tyson’s Corner. It will be taking over the space that’s currently home to Cold Stone until June 1st (the ice cream shop will move to a new location within the Olney Village Center). Classic Bakery hopes to open in the fall of 2024.
Kung Fu Tea, located at 19717 Frederick Rd in Germantown, has announced it will hold its grand opening celebration from May 31 to June 2.
Back in January, Bao Bei at 11910 Parklawn Dr #O in Rockville temporarily closed to participate in a reality TV food competition. It has now been revealed that Bao Bei will be featured in the upcoming 17th season of Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race, premiering on June 30th.
