Bob’s Bethesda is moving closer to opening at 7776 Norfolk Ave., the former home of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. The restaurant will be owned and operated by the original owner of Bob’s Shanghai 66 in Rockville but will not be affiliated with the current Bob’s Shanghai 66 location operating there today.

This past summer, the Washington Post asked, “What’s the best sandwich in DC?” and broke the results into eleven categories. In the popular Philly cheesesteak category, the winner came from Maryland, specifically right here in Montgomery County. Soko Butcher in Takoma Park topped the list. Now, Soko is expanding across the river.

Fish Taco has expanded the space for its upcoming Gaithersburg location, pushing the front wall closer to the street as construction continues ahead of a planned opening this spring.

Signage for the popular local restaurant went up last year at The Shops of Potomac Valley, located at 12121 Darnestown Road. A representative for the family owned business previously confirmed the Gaithersburg restaurant is targeting a spring opening.


While some will argue that Columbia, MD technically isn’t part of the DMV, this food truck taqueria is putting it’s money where it’s mouth is and serving up some of the best birria in the area. DMV Taqueria is in Yelp’s Top 100 places to eat in the US, and it’s there for a good reason. Their staple is the halal birria, but they serve other Mexican and Puerto Rican inspired plates.

A popular Baltimore brunch concept is officially headed to downtown Silver Spring. Central Apartments at 8455 Fenton Street announced last week that Easy Like Sunday is coming soon to the building’s ground-floor retail space. According to Source of the Spring, the restaurant will take over the space previously occupied by El Sapo.
