Winter Storm Warning and Advisory Issued Ahead of Sunday Night Snow

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for parts of Maryland (including NW Montgomery County) and Northern Virginia from 3pm Sunday through 10am Monday. The warning includes Frederick County and Northwest Montgomery County in Maryland, along with Eastern and Western Loudoun counties in Virginia.

Heavy snow is expected in the warning area, with general accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Higher elevations above 1,000 feet could see significantly higher totals, ranging from 6 to 12 inches. Winds may gust as high as 35 mph, which could lead to blowing snow and reduced visibility at times.

National Weather Service Increases Snowfall Totals but Warns of Huge Range of Outcomes

Maryland Environment Department Provides Update on Potomac Wastewater Spill
