The Montgomery County Police Department has released its daily crime summaries covering reported incidents from Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 7.

In the 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac and surrounding areas, police reported an auto theft on Maple Avenue in Rockville in which a stolen vehicle was later recovered nearby and two additional vehicles were vandalized. Tires and rims were stolen from two vehicles on Frederick Avenue, and two suspects were arrested after being found inside a vacant apartment on Elmcroft Court. Police also reported an aggravated assault at Richard Montgomery High School where two suspects entered a classroom, pepper sprayed a student and punched her. The student was treated by the school nurse. Over the weekend, officers also arrested three suspects in two separate commercial burglaries at vacant buildings on Research Boulevard.


According to the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), overnight Purple Line construction will close portions of Wayne Avenue and Manchester Road in Silver Spring from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly through June 16, causing temporary road closures and disruptions to some Ride On bus stops. Full details below courtesy MCDOT: (more…)
