Maryland State Police have made four arrests in connection with a triple murder and house fire in Clear Spring earlier this month, including one suspect who was taken into custody in Montgomery County. The investigation, which authorities say is active and expected to result in additional arrests, stems from a deadly November 18 incident that left three people dead inside a home on National Pike.

After spending years as a mostly empty parking lot, Burtonsville Crossing has undergone one of the most dramatic commercial transformations in Montgomery County. What was once a largely vacant property just a few years ago is now a thriving retail and dining destination, thanks to a wave of new openings and ongoing redevelopment.

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown and 21 other attorneys general have filed a lawsuit seeking to block new USDA guidance they say unlawfully restricts SNAP eligibility for lawful permanent residents who entered the country as refugees, asylees, or through other humanitarian programs.

Maryland has no shortage of history, but one of its most fascinating chapters begins long before statehood, colonial settlements, or even human existence. It dates back between 95 and 130 million years, when enormous creatures roamed what is now Prince George’s County. One of those giants, the Astrodon johnstoni, eventually became Maryland’s official State Dinosaur in 1998.
