Montgomery County Police have arrested 31-year-old Darrell Dwayne Cousar of Silver Spring for allegedly breaking into a senior living facility on October 8, 2025, where he assaulted multiple elderly victims and attempted a sexual assault before being apprehended nearby and charged with multiple offenses.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded Friday morning to a rollover collision at Germantown Road and Seneca Meadows Parkway.

According to Chief Spokespersok for MCFRS Pete Piringer, four patients were evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries, and some lanes were temporarily blocked.


Maryland’s sports wagering market generated $13.47 million in state contributions in September 2025 from a total of $650.97 million in wagers, with bettors winning back $577.9 million. Of the total, $10.18 million went to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund supporting public education, and $3.29 million went to the state’s General Fund.

WSSC Water has opened its newly expanded, state-certified laboratory in Silver Spring, a $38 million facility that nearly doubles its previous size and enhances testing capabilities for 1.9 million residents in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.

Washington linebacker Bobby Wagner continues to show that age is just a number. The 35-year-old veteran, now in his 14th NFL season and second with the Commanders, ranks second in the league in total tackles through Week 5 with 56, just one behind Miami’s Jordyn Brooks (57).

Wagner has been a steadying force in the middle of Washington’s defense since joining the team last year, helping lead the Commanders to an NFC Championship Game appearance in his first season with the franchise. Known for his elite preparation and football IQ, Wagner has remained one of the league’s most reliable tacklers well into his mid-30s — a rare feat at such a physically demanding position.


County Executive Marc Elrich issued the following statement regarding the collision that occurred this afternoon near Russett Road and Bauer Drive in Rockville, where an 11-year-old child lost their life after being struck by a Montgomery County Public Schools bus.
