With Americans donating over $592 billion per year to charity, the personal-finance company WalletHub today released its report on the Most Charitable States for 2026, with Maryland coming in ranked third overall and first in percent of population who donated money to a cause.

It’s been a banner start to the NFL season for the New England Patriots, who improved to 8-2 on Sunday with a big win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, tying the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos for the league’s best record. The Montgomery County and greater Washington, D.C. restaurant community is mourning the sudden loss of Maurizio Luise, the Director of Operations for Cava Mezze, who passed away unexpectedly just after midnight on November 8, 2025. He was 46 years old. A fundraiser has been created to help his wife and children.

Former National Football League (NFL) Commissioner Paul Tagliabue died Friday morning at his home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, his family announced and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. Tagliabue, who was a longtime resident of Montgomery County, was 84 years old.
