Coming Soon signage is now up for a new Goodwill location in Rockville. Back in December, we reported that Goodwill was set to take over the space most recently occupied by Planet Aid at the Montrose Shopping Center, the longtime shopping center anchored by MOM’s Organic Market. The storefront, located at 5520 Randolph Road, is now clearly marked as an upcoming Goodwill.

Burlington has secured a permit valued at $900,000 to begin construction at the former Big Lots location at 19142 Montgomery Village Avenue. While an opening timeframe isn’t available, a 2026 opening now seems likely.

Maryland Amazon Fresh locations are offering steep discounts as the company prepares to close most of its Amazon Fresh grocery stores nationwide this weekend (some stores have or will close earlier depending on inventory).
Amazon announced Tuesday morning that it will close all of its Amazon Go and Amazon Fresh grocery stores nationwide, a total of 72 locations, as the company shifts its focus to Whole Foods Market and grocery delivery through Amazon.com.
