Last December we told you that GameWorks and The Works Kitchen were coming to the lower level of Westfield Montgomery Mall, next to Old Navy. Unfortunately, the company announced this week that it has closed all of itslocations and will no longer be opening any new ones.

&pizza was founded by Michael Lastoria and Steve Salis (Ted’s Bulletin, Federalist Pig, and Ensemble) in 2012 with their first location on H Street in D.C. The growing chain now has over 36 locations across the east coast including MoCo locations in Bethesda, Gaithersburg (Crown), Germantown, Pike & Rose, Silver Spring and a second Gaithersburg location coming soon.
Westfield Montgomery Mall has announced that Shake Shack will be opening its new location this Monday, December 20.
The Shake Shack will be located at the former site of Poke Papa inside of the mall’s food court.
DC’s Butter Me Up will be opening a Montgomery County location in Westfield’s Montgomery Mall.
HalfSmoke, which should be opening its first MoCo location in Rockville Town Square soon, created Butter Me Up as a breakfast sandwich pop-up during the pandemic so that customers can pick up or order breakfast sandwiches for delivery.
Big Al’s Subs and Soups has opened in the Montgomery Mall food court, taking over the location that was previously home to Wicked Waffles next to Charley’s.
The restaurant offers ten different signature sandwiches, which includes a vegetarian option called “The Mediterranean”, or gives you the option to create your own regular ($7.49) or large ($10.49) sub.
Westfield will have expanded hours at Montgomery and Wheaton Malls this holiday season. The hours for each day until January 3 can be seen below:

MINISO, a Japanese themed novelty store, has opened on the first floor of Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) next to Macy’s.

It’Sugar, which closed its Rockville location in January, will be coming to Montgomery Mall later this year. The trendy candy store specializes in innovative sweets, fun novelty gifts, and giant candy.
Shake Shack Coming to Montgomery Mall
“Opening Soon” signage is up at Westfield Montgomery for Shake Shack. Last week we reported that Shake Shack hopes to open three new MoCo locations by the end of 2022.
