In coordination with Montgomery County and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro), the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the State Highway Administration (SHA) have agreed to make almost seven miles of bus-only lanes on MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) between Silver Spring and Glenmont permanent.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has released additional information regarding an incident where officers on proactive patrol in Glenmont interrupted a drug sale, leading to the arrest of a buyer and juvenile dealer and the recovery of over 400 pressed fentanyl pills.
District 4 (4D) Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander David Smith shared that 400 pressed fentanyl pills were recovered when protective patrol observed and interrupted a drug sale on Friday night.
