According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), a 4th District officer fatally shot an armed man after responding to a reported assault in Wheaton-Glenmont 0n Saturday after the man did not comply to multiple commands.
MCPD Update: “On Saturday, September 21, 2024, at approximately 7:49 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of an assault in progress.

District 4 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander David Smith shared information regarding a traffic stop in the Glenmont area that resulted in two arrests and the recover of multiple firearms.
Captain David Smith, Commander of the Montgomery County Police Department’s (MCPD) fourth district, shared information on Wednesday regarding the arrest of three people (two separate incidents) and recovery of a stolen vehicle.

Last October we let you know Dunkin’ will be taking over the space that was previously home to $2.49 Cleaners, at 12196 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton-Glenmont, on the same block as Trippy Tacos and Seafood in the Buff and near Popeyes. Now we know that a $500K permit has been granted for construction to begin on the space, per Maryland Newsletters.
