Dacha Beer Garden to Open New Location at Former Denizens Brewery Site

Dacha Beer Garden is coming to 1115 East-West Highway in Silver Spring, taking over the former site of Denizens Brewery. Denizens, which opened in the space in June 2014, closed its Silver Spring location in October 2023, with owner Julie Verrati stating, “Our ten-year lease has come to an end, and that’s the end of an era for us. It’s been an incredible ten years in Silver Spring, and we’re so grateful for the community here…” Denizens can still be found at 4550 Van Buren St in Riverdale Park, MD.

Jersey Mike’s to Donate 100% of Sales to Local Charities on Wednesday, March 26

On Wednesday, March 26, Jersey Mike’s Subs will donate 100% of its sales—expected to exceed $25 million—to over 200 local charities as part of its 15th Annual Day of Giving. This event, the culmination of the Month of Giving campaign, has helped Jersey Mike’s raise more than $113 million for charities since 2011. Jersey Mike’s has nine locations in Montgomery County. Up and Coming WWE Superstar Keanu Carver Was Born and Raised in Montgomery County

Keanu Carver has made a significant impact on WWE’s Evolve series. Born Kevin Isaiah Robertson, he hails from Montgomery County, having been born in Silver Spring and raised in Takoma Park. A graduate of Montgomery Blair High School, Carver played college football as a defensive tackle for the Temple Owls from 2019 to 2021.
