Former Georgetown Hoyas basketball head coach Craig Escherick became a member of the Springbrook High School Athletic Hall of Fame last month, joining James Castonguay, Jim Dunne, Omar Evans, Thomas Higdon, Darren McLinton, Ria Peralta, Jenni Pfeiffer, and Kevin Williamson as inductees.

Last December we let you know that Nash & Smash, a restaurant that serves Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, smash burgers, and more, is coming soon to MoCo. Construction began this spring and permanent signage went up in the early summer, but there has been much heard about its opening…until now.

The Maryland Department of Transportation will hold a public workshop on Nov. 14 at the Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center in Silver Spring to discuss planned pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements along University Boulevard as part of the Pedestrian Safety Action Plan.

Per the news release: “The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will host a public informational workshop from 5:30–7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, regarding planned pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements along University Boulevard (MD 193) in Silver Spring.
