According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Theresa Chernosky sentenced defendant, Ishtiaq Malik, 60, of Lanham, to 42 years in prison suspend all but 24 years to serve and five years of supervised probation upon release. Malik will also be required to register as a sex offender for the duration of his life.” (more…)
Montgomery County has announced it was recently selected by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) to host two EV charging stations as part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program. The stations will be located at the Colesville Park & Ride at 13504 New Hampshire Ave. and Montgomery County Parking Lot 12 at 1920 Seminary Rd., both in Silver Spring.

Wheaton’s newest mural on the side of a building, called “Wheaton Lives,” will be dedicated in ceremonies at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11. The mural is on the building that houses Elbe’s Beer and Wine store (photo of the full mural below).
