Sticky Fingers, the beloved woman-owned DC-based bakery from two-time Cupcake Wars champion, Doron Petersan, is now sweetening up more of the DMV. Its latest retail outlet and flagship commercial kitchen opens its doors on Tuesday, January 23rd in the Takoma neighborhood of DC, at 314 Carroll Street NW, across from the Takoma Metro Station. The bakery takes over the space formerly occupied by Soupergirl, and will carry Soupergirl soups in its grab-and-go section.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a shooting that killed a man in Northeast DC. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Ryan Realbuto, of Pittsford, NY, who was volunteering at Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School in Takoma Park.

The Takoma Park City Council has announced the hiring of former Rockville City Manager, Robert DiSpirito, as its next City Manager. The Council formally confirmed his appointment at its regular Council meeting on January 17, 2024. DiSpirito resigned from his position as Rockville City Manager in August.

The third armed robbery to take place at an ATM in Takoma Park in the last month occurred on Saturday morning, January 6, at approximately 10:40 am.
On January 6, at approximately 12:42 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7200 block of Garland Avenue for a report of an indecent exposure.
