A broken gas line has been reported in the vicinity of 14th Ave. and Erskine Street in Takoma Park. Washington Gas is responding to the situation, but the estimated arrival time for their crew is currently unknown.

The Takoma Park Police Department has shared that on or about December 20, 2024, north and southbound traffic on Carroll Avenue will be limited to right turns only at the intersection with University Boulevard (MD 193) for approximately five weeks.

Update: A multi-vehicle collision, including a tractor-trailer, occurred on southbound I-270 between Montrose Road and the I-270 Spur around 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, one person was trapped and extricated from a passenger car by emergency responders and was transported with Priority 2 trauma. Some lanes remain blocked as of 4pm.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has shared a traffic advisory due to a train striking a person on Sunday evening. The person did not survive.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has begun a $5.2 million safety and resurfacing project on a 2.76-mile stretch of MD 650 (New Hampshire Avenue), including upgrades to sidewalks, traffic barriers, signage, and drainage systems, with completion expected by next summer.
Maryland State Police (MSP) shared via social media that all lanes of northbound I-95 at 198 were closed for a police investigation on Monday morning.

Alert Montgomery sent out a ‘Severe Traffic Alert’ at 8:58pm regarding a Traffic incident that has closed the southbound lanes of I-270 at Middlebrook Rd. Per the alert, “Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.” We will provide additional information if it becomes available.
