Catherine Ashley Hoggle, 38, of Clarksburg, has been indicted by a Montgomery County Grand Jury on two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her children, Sarah and Jacob Hoggle, and was arrested in Kent County after being discharged from a state psychiatric hospital. (more…)

The Montgomery County Planning Board will hold two public hearings on Thursday, September 25, 2025, for the Clarksburg Gateway Sector Plan, which focuses on an area of Clarksburg east of I-270 and west of Frederick Road (MD 355). The sector plan envisions a more complete, connected, and sustainable community over the next 20-plus years that balances economic growth with the preservation of natural and historic resources.

MCPS has shared that a team from Hallie Wells Middle School, under the guidance of science teacher Dustin Deem and with support from the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, has won the Maryland MESA State Championship.
