The Maryland office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a news release stating that it welcomed Montgomery County Public Schools’ (MCPS) response to a complaint regarding the alleged mistreatment of an 8-year-old Muslim student at Cabin Branch Elementary School in Clarksburg, which included removing the teacher from the classroom. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Special Victims Investigations Division executed a search warrant on Sunday in the 10600 block of Sweepstakes Rd in Damascus as part of an active investigation. No arrests were made, and the investigation is not related to immigration enforcement, according to a police news alert.
