BGR, which stands for “Burgers Grilled Right,” has closed its Germantown location at 20940-B Frederick Rd in the Neelsville Village Center. The location has been removed from the BGR website and is listed as permanently closed on Google. The last remaining BGR in Maryland is at  6250 Columbia Crossing Circle, Suite D in Columbia.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School (13737 Wisteria Dr. Germantown, MD) evacuated the building on Thursday morning due to a fire alarm. The school sent out a message assuring the community the students and staff are safe, but moved to Lake Seneca ES due to the low temperatures. Due to a failed water pipe, the school is without heat and water and the decision to close the school was made. Full communication from the school can be be seen below:

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a hybrid public information meeting on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 6:30 p.m., to discuss Phase II and III of the Oak Drive (MD 27) sidewalk project in Damascus, providing project details, gathering public feedback, and addressing questions in-person at the Damascus Community Library and online via Zoom. Kamran “Cam” Makki, owner of Mackie’s Barbecue, announced that the restaurant would be closing its Clarksburg, Frederick, and Olney locations effective January 10th as the business focuses on growing its catering and online delivery business.
