Event

General admission is $25 per person, which includes chili tastings. Free Admission for kids under 18, Police Officers and their Family is provided by MCPF). All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission to strengthen community-police relationships, support officers wellness, and enhance public safety initiatives across Montgomery County.

In addition to delicious chili, attendees can enjoy local craft beer from Lone Oak Brewery, family activities, and opportunities to meet and interact with Montgomery County police officers in a fun, relaxed setting.

Last October we let you know that Kusshi Sushi officially signed on to take over the space that was home to popular sushi restaurant Sushi Damo at 36G Maryland Ave in Rockville Town Square for over 15 years. The restaurant is now open, currently in a “soft opening phase” open from 11am until midnight.

Ashton

Rising seniors Abby Sorkin and Emily Sefcik from Sherwood High School started the “Sports for All Club” during their junior year. They collected donations of new or gently used sports equipment at their school and donated it to kids from under-resourced communities.

Multiple Maryland restaurants made the latest Eater DC list pointing diners toward the 15 most intriguing or otherwise buzzworthy new restaurants in the D.C. area. In this situation, they’re all in one place– the new Solaire Social food hall at 8200 Dixon Ave in Silver Spring.

Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a dirt bike and a car on Saturday, July 6, in Gaithersburg.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the incident occurred at approximately 9:15pm at the intersection of Snouffer School Rd. and Centerway Rd. One patient was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
