Niche recently released its 2024 list of the ‘Best Places to Live in Maryland.’ Niche is an American company headquartered in Pittsburgh that runs a ranking and review site. The company is an online resource providing information on K-12 schools, colleges, cities, neighborhoods, and companies across the United States. The ‘Best Places to Live’ ranking provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall livability of an area. This grade takes into account several key factors of a location, including the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities in an attempt to measure the overall quality of an area.

Bethesda

The Montgomery County Council has authorized the Montgomery County Planning Department to develop a Minor Master Plan Amendment (MMPA) for the 2017 Bethesda Downtown Plan that will focus on implementation, specifically as it relates to the cap of the Bethesda Overlay Zone (BOZ).

Highways / Interstates

According to the Maryland State Highway Administration, all northbound lanes of I-270 are now open at MD 109 following a fatal collision that occurred on Monday, May 13. There are still lanes closed on SB I-270 and traffic remains heavy.
