For more than six decades, TDSI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thales U.S.A, has supported critical national security missions, delivering advanced communications, intelligence, surveillance, and defense technologies to military and government customers around the world.
Last week, the company celebrated a significant expansion of its manufacturing operations in Clarksburg, Maryland.
Over the past year, TDSI also doubled its manufacturing floor footprint through a $4 million investment, expanding production capacity to support the company’s continued growth.
Today, TDSI employs approximately 675 people in Montgomery County, including roughly 250 manufacturing employees.
As demand for its technologies continues to grow, the company continues to expand and has added more than 225 positions locally over the past three years.

There are mixed emotions on the reopening of iconic restaurant Pizza Oven after a social media post announced that the restaurant has reopened under new ownership- just a couple days after it seemingly closed permanently.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has released its ‘First Call’ maps for Saturday’s winter storms (seen above, courtesy of FOX5’s Mike Thomas) and right now it consists of two different maps- one for Saturday 7am until 1pm and one for Saturday 1pm until 7pm.

According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Cheryl McCally sentenced defendant, Dr. James Michael Ryan, 50, of Clarksburg, to 45 years in prison.

When Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief Scott Goldstein stepped down earlier this year after 8 years leading the department, John Kinsley was named Interim Chief. Kinsley officially retired on December 31st, 2023.
Sam Howell will start the final game of the Washington Commanders’ 2023 season, JP Finlay reported earlier today. He also stated that this will be the first time Washington has had the same quarterback start every game since Kirk Cousins did it in 2017.
