The Quarry House Tavern at 8401 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring will begin requiring its guests to show their vaccination cards or a negative COVID-19 test (taken within 48 hours) before entering the restaurant beginning on November 1.

In August we let you know Èkó House would be coming to the space formerly occupied by Bar Louie at 150 Gibbs St. in Rockville Town Square.
The restaurant is scheduled to have its beer, wine, and liquor license hearing with Montgomery County on November 4th.
Student Member of the Board of Education, Hana O’Looney will host a live virtual Student Town Hall on Monday, Oct. 25 from 7 – 8 p.m. Her guest for the hourlong event will be Interim Superintendent Monifa B. McKnight. They will answer questions that have been submitted prior to the program and live from Instagram.

The buildout has begun on the &pizza at the Gaithersburg Square shopping center. The restaurant will be located next to Quickway Japanese Hibachi.
The restaurant has also updated its “coming soon” signage on the front of the building.

Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy, sent a letter to National Football League (NFL) Commissioner Rodger Goodell requesting documents and information regarding the Washington Football Team’s (WFT) hostile workplace culture and NFL’s handling of this matter.
“The NFL has one of the most prominent platforms in America, and its decisions can have national implications,” the Chairs wrote. “The NFL’s lack of transparency about the problems it recently uncovered raise questions about the seriousness with which it has addressed bigotry, racism, sexism, and homophobia—setting troubling precedent for other workplaces. The Committee is seeking to fully understand this workplace conduct and the league’s response, which will help inform legislative efforts to address toxic work environments and workplace investigation processes; strengthen protections for women in the workplace; and address the use of non-disclosure agreements to prevent the disclosure of unlawful employment practices, including sexual harassment. We hope and trust that the NFL shares the Committee’s goal of protecting American workers from harassment and discrimination.”

Montgomery a county a police have confirmed one person dead and multiple people injured after a crash on Georgia Avenue at Dexter Avenue in Silver Spring (Forest Glen) last night.
The crash occurred around 10pm last night and involved at least two children being transported to the hospital.
