In 2023, New York’s famous H&H Bagels entered a new era of expansion, with agreements in place for 25 new restaurants, including 10 units in the DC area. Now, the first DC location will open at 601 K Street, NW on Thursday, June 12th– about 6.5 miles away from the Maryland line.

Announcement

Jamie McIntyre, former CNN military affairs and senior Pentagon correspondent, as well as former Washington Examiner senior writer for defense and national security, will speak about how the events on 9/11 and the aftermath ushered in a “post-truth” era in America. Jamie has written extensively on this topic and draws from a life-long career in journalism, including his time at the Pentagon on 9/11.

Come enjoy the day at our annual Washington Grove Arts and Craft Festival in a beautiful outdoor setting. This festival highlights local artisans including wood creations, pottery, visual art, household products and so much more. We also have food trucks from El Parente Tacos, El Jeffe Wood-fired pizzas, Bruster’s Ice Cream and beverages from Saints Row Brewery. Bring the whole family because we have a kids activity area too. Pets on a leash are welcome too!

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies, while serving a Writ of Restitution (eviction), found an unconscious individual in a residence with a gas stove emitting gas. After securing the residence, waking the individual, and de-escalating their agitation, deputies ensured the person was safely transported to an emergency facility for necessary mental health treatment.

Brown has joined 17 other attorneys general in filing a multistate amicus brief opposing the U.S. Department of Justice’s cancellation of public safety program funding, supporting a lawsuit to block the cuts, which threaten over $20 million in grants to Maryland programs. Clarksburg

The fourth annual DMV Veteran Shark Tank pitch competition will take place on June 12, at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets, in honor of Women Veterans Appreciation Day. The event, presented by Prince George’s Community College and United Way of the National Capital Area, features three female veteran entrepreneurs competing for a $5,000 prize, along with mentorship and business support services.
