Safeway has officially closed its store at 1800 Rockville Pike, located on the ground level of the Galvan at Twinbrook complex. The store ceased operations sometime last week, and signage has now been removed.
Jamie McIntyre, former CNN military affairs and senior Pentagon correspondent, as well as former Washington Examiner senior writer for defense and national security, will speak about how the events on 9/11 and the aftermath ushered in a “post-truth” era in America. Jamie has written extensively on this topic and draws from a life-long career in journalism, including his time at the Pentagon on 9/11.

With Tax Day approaching on April 15, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its 2025 Tax Burden by State report, and Maryland was ranked as having the 9th highest tax burden in the country.
Kings Dominion opened Rapterra, the world’s “tallest and longest launched wing coaster,” on March 29 as part of its 50th anniversary season. The ride features a “wing slide” motion and three inversions, launching riders to 65 mph with no track above or below them. (more…)

Big Bounce America, the world’s largest touring inflatable event, is returning to Maryland from May 10 through May 25 at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington (Prince George’s County).
