When Returning to Buildings is Possible, 60% of MCPS Students will Remain Virtual

MCPS recently requested parents to complete the preference survey indicating whether they choose to have their student remain in a virtual learning model or have the opportunity for in-person learning experiences. This survey closed yesterday, December 7.

Today during their virtual meeting, the MCPS Board of Education discussed a number of topics including how MoCo is stacking up in terms of health metrics, student data, updates on measures they’re taking to ensure safety, and recommendations for student transportation once there is a return to buildings.

Maryland Reaches 9% Daily Positivity Rate as MoCo Reports Second-Highest Number of New Cases Ever

The Maryland Department of Health today recorded 2,765 new cases from 30,696 tests. Statewide, there were also 30 new deaths and 56 new hospitalizations.
