A Walk to Remember Event Scheduled for September 14 at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg to Discuss History of the Three Known Lynchings in Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Lynching Memorial Project and the Gaithersburg Community Museum will host “A Walk of Remembrance: Facing Hard History Together” at 6:30pm on September 14 at Bohrer Park.  This event is free and registration is required.

Last November we told you that Chase Bank was close to receiving approval to take over the location previously occupied by Meixin Supermarket on Hungerford Drive (355) in Rockville.

Two Story Chimney Ciderworks Plans to Open Tasting Room in August

You might have seen cider from Two Story Chimney at the Silver Spring, Bethesda, or Olney farmers markets– they’ve been making and selling their cider since 2019. Although a specific date has not been confirmed yet, they shared with us that they are planning to open a tasting room this August. The tasting room will be in the Agricultural Reserve between Damascus and Laytonsville.

The Bethesda African Cemetery Coalition will be holding their inaugural Juneteenth event this Saturday at 5119 River Rd in Bethesda from 12-4PM.

“Bethesda African Cemetery Coalition invites you to celebrate Juneteenth with the community. The event will include speakers from local anti-racist organizations, as well as the unveiling of our new Tabletop Exhibit! Gather with us at at Macedonia Baptist Church to celebrate Juneteenth and our collective resistance.”
