Bethesda

Montgomery County Police are investigating a carjacking that occurred Tuesday night in Bethesda. According to police, “At approximately 8:18 p.m., MCP officers responded to the 4000 block of Chevy Chase Dr. for the report of a carjacking that just occurred. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspects assaulted an adult male victim, stole his vehicle, and left the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries.” According to public safety reporter Cordell Pugh, the victim was an elderly man that had his 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen. Silver Spring

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 16-year-old from Silver Spring. Marsamo Kranidis Schmidt was last seen on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in the 10200 block of Tenbrook Dr.

Schmidt is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has black medium length locs and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, a black hoodie sweatshirt, dark athletic pants and black sneakers. He may be carrying a black rolling suitcase with a gold tassel. Police and family are concern for his welfare.


White Oak

The victim had been removed from the bus when officers arrived, and the officers attempted life-saving-measures until Montgomery County Fire Rescue arrived. Justice T’Ziyan Elliott was pronounced dead on scene. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Elliott, of Silver Spring, was seated in the back of the bus when the suspect boarded the bus and confronted Elliott. Words were exchanged, the suspect pulled out a handgun, shot Elliott and ran from the bus.

Bethesda

Montgomery County Police responded to a call for a stolen vehicle around 1:40am on Sunday, February 19, at Glenwood Road near Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. According to MCPD, the adult male victim was making a food delivery in the neighborhood and left his his Hyundai Elantra running and the door open. The suspects were in another car, when they stopped and demanded the car key from the victim, but when they saw the car was already running, they stole the victim’s car.

The suspects abandoned a white Toyota at the scene. Officers searched the area, but were not able to find the suspects who are reported to be late teens or early twenties, wearing dark clothing and hoodies. Gaithersburg

The Montgomery County Department of Police, Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision. The name of the deceased will be released following proper notification of next of kin.”

White Oak

Montgomery County Police and Metro Transit Police responded to a fatal shooting on board a Metro Transit bus in White Oak on Friday evening. According to police, “ At approximately 7:45 p.m., MCPD 3rd District officers responded to the 14300 block of Lockwood Drive where an adult male had been shot inside of the bus.

Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded and provided life-saving measures, but the victim died on scene.  The suspect exited the bus and ran from the location.  Preliminarily, it appears that there was an altercation between the suspect and the victim and there is no threat to the community.


Montgomery Village

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested a suspect wanted for a homicide that occurred on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the 19000 block of Mills Choice Rd. At approximately 12:09 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the location for a check the welfare call.  Upon arrival, officers located 41-year-old Louis James Chesley, of Montgomery Village, deceased with apparent trauma to the body. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.

The suspect, 35-year-old William Oligiwan Cutler was arrested the afternoon of Friday, February 17, in Gaithersburg. Cutler has no known address. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.


Glenmont

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have charged seven juveniles, one 14-year-old, three 15-year-olds, two 16-year-olds, and one 17-year-old, with auto theft. On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at approximately 7:30 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the 12300 block of Livingston St. for the report of a suspicious situation.

Detectives from the Auto Crime Enforcement Section (ACES) were in the area conducting proactive enforcement, with 4th District patrol, in response to Hyundai and Kia theft trends and responded to the location as well. The preliminary on scene investigation revealed that officers observed a red Hyundai Sonata leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Officers determined that the Sonata was reported stolen from Washington, D.C.


Gaithersburg

Per the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office: In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before the Honorable Karla Smith, a jury has found defendant, Adin Huezo Grandados, 28, of Leesburg, VA, guilty of Sexual Solicitation of a Minor. The jury returned the verdict this week, on Wednesday, February 15th.

Huezo communicated with what he thought was a 15-year-old female through a social media profile created by an undercover officer with the Montgomery County Police Vice & Intelligence Unit and was arrested on June 17, 2022 when he arrived at a planned meeting place in a shopping center across from a Montgomery County public high school. He believed the “female” he would meet was a student at the school.
