On Friday, March 25, the Montgomery County Police Department team participated in the annual Special Olympics Maryland Police Plunge. The event takes place each year at Sandy Point State Park on the Chesapeake Bay.
According to organizers, the first Police Plunge took place in 2012 and raised over $100,000. Since then, agencies have raised over $2 million dollars. Learn more at www.plungemd.com

The driver was initially trapped but has since been removed by MCFRS and has been transported for injuries. There were no other injuries reported, according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer.
The building has structural damage but the car did not hit a load bearing wall.
One person was taken into custody on gun charges after a shooting in a Silver Spring parking garage, according to NBC Washington.
The shooting occurred around 1:40am Sunday at a garage located on the 8100 block of Fenton St. in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County Police will host “Coffee, Cakes, and Cops” on Wednesday, March 30 from 5-7pm at the MCPD District 4 station (2300 Randolph Rd) in Wheaton.

On January 24, 2022, Montgomery County Police Officers responded to a call for a body found in the 18900 block of Grotto Lane in Germantown. The following day, police identified the body as that of 17-year-old Jai’lyn Lawrence Jones.
A Damascus Maryland man has pled guilty to distribution of controlled dangerous substances and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances in Maryland and West Virginia, Montgomery County Police reports.
According to a press release, from May 2016 through July 2018, 38-year-old Adebowale Ojo distributed crack cocaine, cocaine and heroin to users and street level dealers in Montgomery County, Frederick County and West Virginia.
