Statement from Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich on Antisemitism
Antisemitic language, threats, and actions have no place in Montgomery County, our state, and throughout our nation and world. Similar to recent violence and vitriol against our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, the Jewish community of Montgomery County understandably is alarmed by the rise in antisemitic incidents that are currently occurring in our society.
Starbucks in Montgomery Village Update
Back in October we first reported that Starbucks was coming to the redeveloped Montgomery Village Shopping Center. We can now confirm that it will be located at the former site of the Montgomery Village Denny’s (19290 Montgomery Village Ave), directly facing the new Lidl grocery store that is currently being built across the street at the site of the former Montgomery Village Professional Center.

Costco Bringing Back Free Samples
CNN is reporting that Costco will begin handing out free food samples at their locations beginning next month, as well as reopening the seating area in their food courts.
Daily Grill in Bethesda Will Not Reopen
Bethesda Beat is reporting that the Daily Grill inside the Hyatt Regency at 7400 Wisconsin Ave in Bethesda has closed permanently. The restaurant, which is still listed as “temporarily closed” on the company’s website, initially closed back in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The first model townhomes have been built at the site of the old Montgomery Village Golf Course. The new development is named Bloom Montgomery Village and is advertising that townhomes will start in the “mid 400’s.”

According to a report by NBC4, Luis Gustavo Reluzco, the man convicted of killing Officer Noah Leotta in December 2015, is being released this Friday from prison on good behavior credit.
