George Lopez has joined the trend of celebrities teaming up with ghost kitchens with his newest venture, George Lopez Tacos.
The virtual restaurant is now available on delivery apps and is delivering food from The Greene Turtle in Burtonsville. Delivery ranges vary, but depending on the app can cover places as far as parts of Rockville and Gaithersburg.
Back in January we let you know that Berries & Bowls, the “Superfood Cafe” would open its second location at 4961 Elm St. in Bethesda– the former home of Spring Mill Bread Co.
They have announced that they will open tomorrow (Friday, August 13th) at 10am until 8:30pm. The first 25 customers will get a free bowl (one per person).
&pizza Coming to Gaithersburg Square
“Coming Soon” signage is up for &pizza at the Gaithersburg Square shopping center. The restaurant will be located next to Quickway Japanese Hibachi.
Progress at Lidl in Montgomery Village
Construction appears to be wrapping up at the upcoming Lidl in Montgomery Village, located at 19241 Montgomery Village Ave. (formerly the MV Professional Center).
Tropical Smoothie Café opened earlier this week in the Aspen Hill shopping center (13531 Connecticut It has taken over the space of the old My Eye Dr. location, which has recently moved within the shopping center.
The cafe offers more than just smoothies as the menu contains flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas, sandwiches, bowls, breakfast, and a lot more.
New Mobile Coffee Stand in Silver Spring
Flower Coffee Collective is now open at 8805 Flower Ave in Silver Spring (in front of El Gavilan Restaurant).
Fryer‘s Roadside at 12830 New Hampshire Ave (former location of Chopaan Kabob House) in the Meadowood Shopping Center is now open. The restaurant offers farm-fresh fried chicken, hand-cut fries, coleslaw, fried rice, soft-serve ice cream, and snowballs.
We spoke with owner Steve Englehardt back in the spring and he told us their sauces will all be made in-house and will feature mumbo sauce, a Memphis style hot sauce, and habanero sauce with the habanero and jalapeño peppers grown in the garden behind the restaurant.All of their rolls come from nearby, and locally legendary, Woodmoor Bakery. Hours of operation will be 11am-9pm daily. The menu can be seen below:
PLNT Burger in Rockville is Now Open
PLNT Burger, a vegan plant-based restaurant, is now open in the Rockville Whole Foods at 11355 Woodglen Drive.
OMA Sushi & Oyster Bar to Open at The Block
This past weekend, signs for Oma Sushi & Oyster Bar went up at a stall in The Block in Pike & Rose. We spoke to a representative for Oma, who said that they hope to be open by the end of August.
8/16 Update: Tiger Sugar Rockville announced on its social media that the Grand Opening will take place on August 28th from 11:30am-10pm.
Tiger Sugar will be taking over the old Jamba Juice location at 12266E in Federal Plaza.
South House Garden in Olde Towne Gaithersburg Announces Opening Date
South House Garden located at 317 E. Diamond Ave in Gaithersburg announced that they will be opening on Saturday, August 21.
