Regina’s Restaurant at 11423 Georgia Avenue in Wheaton– the former home of Anchor Seafood and Jose’s Grill and more, next to Nut House Pizza, is now open for business.
August 32 opened its first MoCo location in October of 2019 in the Germantown Town Center. After just under two years, a closed sign was put up in the front door and paper went up on the windows. A text message confirmed that the restaurant had closed permanently.
They specialized in “tea, tea drinks, bubble tea, and tea-related products.” We reached out via phone and social media, but have not received a response regarding the closure.
Yirasai Sushi will be moving to Park Potomac, according to restaurant management.
Earlier today we spoke with a manager at Yirasai Sushi, located at 5110 Ridgefield Road in the Westwood Shipping Center in Bethesda, who told us that the tentative plan is to close to the current location later this year as they prepare to move in to the old Elevation Burger spot in Park Potomac that became available last month.
It has been over a year and a half since we let you know that La Gula Mexicana would be taking over the old Agrodolce spot in the Milestone Center in Germantown (21030 Frederick Rd Suite J).
In our last update this past March, there wasn’t much progress in the interior, but we stopped by and things have definitely picked up (photos available below). It looks like the interior is nearly complete and the finishing touches were being placed on the outdoor patio.
Bangkok Garden in Bethesda to Close at the End of This Month
Bangkok Garden at 4906 St Elmo Ave in Bethesda announced today that they will be closing the restaurant on August 29. The Rockville location at 891 Rockville Pike will continue to remain open.
Update: Gelato Galaxy is now open.
A new dessert spot is coming to the Montgomery Mall food court. Gelato Galaxy will be opening “very soon” according to a mall employee we spoke to today.
Back in December of 2019, we learned that Frank Pepe’s would be opening its first Maryland pizzeria right here in MoCo.
After many delays we have learned that the restaurant is back on track to open, as they currently have a hearing to sell beer and wine scheduled for 10am on September 2nd.
Back in January we let you know that Berries & Bowls, the “Superfood Cafe” would open its second location at 4961 Elm St. in Bethesda– the former home of Spring Mill Bread Co.
Signage is now up and construction is finishing up, as Berries & Bowls hopes to open its new location in the first half of August.
Papi’s Chicken & Grill has closed permanently in Damascus. The restaurant rebranded from “Peruvian Chicken & Grill” back in September of 2019.
Located at 26400 Ridge Rd., the restaurant offered Peruvian chicken, other Peruvian specialities like lomo saltado, and a variety of specialties that included gyros, tacos, lobster rolls, and more.
Update on JAVA Nation in the Kentlands
JAVA Nation, which has locations in Kensington and North Bethesda, tells us that they are now looking at an October opening for their new Gaithersburg shop. Originally looking at an August opening, there have been material and equipment delays by manufacturers.
Last month we let you know that Qdoba Mexican Eats would be opening a new restaurant in the recently renovated and renamed Rock Grove Center in Gaithersburg.
The fast-casual chain will be opening its newest location at 16260 Frederick Road in the location that was formerly home to Jerry’s Subs and Pizza.
