Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 22-year-old woman missing from Silver Spring.

On February 7th, in the District Court for Montgomery County, MD, Judge Sherri Koch sentenced defendant, Kyhree Gardner, 18, of Silver Spring, to 5-years suspend, all but 9-months in prison, and three years of probation upon release.
Staff at Burnt Mills Elementary School found a school laptop bag containing a ghost gun near the basketball court after hours on October 20th 2021. The defendant was playing basketball at the time and was later arrested after staff contacted police and an investigation ensued.
La Casita, which has locations in Gaithersburg, Germantown, Silver Spring, and DC, has closed all of their locations today in support of the nationwide Day Without Immigrants.
The first Day Without Immigrants took place on February 16, 2017 to protest President Trump’s plans to build a border wall and the proposed deportation of millions of undocumented immigrants.

Underground Pizza Company at 8235 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring (formerly Olazzo) will now be opening on Saturday, February 19. The restaurant will be open this weekend for carry out only, from 1-10pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Owner Evan Weinstein, a concert promoter and founder of Steez Promo, started Underground Pizza Company (UPC) in 2020 after concert venues in the area closed their doors due to the pandemic.

A piglet was found running loose in Silver Spring and was captured by MoCo Animal Control. She has been taken to Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Poolesville– a 430 acre refuge for abused and abandoned farm animals and wildlife.
