The Washington Football Team may not be tearing it up this year, but they find themselves within striking distance for a division crown amidst a group of teams that have underwhelmed.

One of the big reasons for the WFT’s success this season has been their defensive play; one of their biggest stars this season has been Kendall Fuller, a 2013 graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, MD.


Damascus

Jake Funk broke the Maryland state record for career touchdowns when he was a student at Damascus– he had 57 during his senior year alone.

His college career hasn’t worked out the same way. He spent his first two years seeing limited action and his last two seasons ended early due to injury, after he tore the same ACL in back to back seasons.

MoCo High School Football Coaches Write an Open Letter to County Executive and Board of Education

MoCo football coaches released an open letter to Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and the MoCo Board of Education this morning asking MCPS Athletics to allow in-person conditioning and workouts for student-athletes.

Today is a pretty big day for football fans in our area. The Washington Football Team, who I consider our home team, is playing against the Baltimore Ravens.


Entertainment

Jeff Halpern, the assistant coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning NHL team, is from Potomac.

Halpern grew up in Potomac and played travel hockey in the area. He attended Winston Churchill High School before attending St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire.
