NBC 4 Releases its Snowfall Forecast for 2021/2022 Winter

NBC 4 has released its Snowfall Forecast for this upcoming winter.

Meteorologists Chuck Bell and Doug Kammerer both agree that snowfall is likely to be at or below average due to expected La Niña winter.

NBC 4’s forecast gives us a bit more snow than Fox 5’s Winter Outlook gave us, with about a third of MoCo in the 7”-13” range and about 2/3 of MoCo in the 12”-18” range in terms of snowfall.

A “La Niña” means the jet stream and severe weather are likely to be farther north, while weather is the south is warmer than usual. We usually have below average snowfall and above average temperatures during La Niña winters.

The full outlook will be available on www.NBCwashington.com when it is released later this morning
