The MoCoShow MCPS High School Football Week 7 Preview & Predictions

 

Springbrook (3-3) at Winters Mill (2-4) – The Blue Devils dispatched Northwood 49-6. QB Tommy Dietrich passed for 112 yards and 2 TDs.  Springbrook will travel to Carroll County to take on Winters Mill next. Prediction: Winters Mill by 7      

Kennedy (2-3) at Watkins Mill (0-6)   The Cavaliers lost to Magruder 23-8. As a team Kennedy had 105 yards passing and 1 TD. The Wolverines fell to Churchill 37-3. Prediction: Kennedy by 8  . 

Wootton (1-5) at Whitman (0-6)  The Patriots were shutout by Seneca Valley 38–0. The Vikings lost to Churchill 37-3. Prediction: Wootton by 3 

Einstein (2-4) at Magruder (3-3) – The Titans took care of Wheaton 42-6.  The Colonels beat Kennedy 23-8.  RB Greg Lemus rushed for 120 yards and 1 TD in the victory. Prediction: Magruder by 1

Wheaton (0-5) at Blake (3-3) – The Knights lost to Einstein 4-6.  The Bengals lost a tough game to Paint Branch 17-6.  QB Joey Faunteroy had 84 total yards and 1 TD in the loss. Prediction: Blake by 33 

BCC (2-4) at Clarksburg (0-6) – The Barons lost a heartbreaker to Walter Johnson in the final seconds 20-14. RB Tamba Mbayo ran for 122 yards and 1 TD in the loss. The Coyotes fell to Damascus 54-12. Prediction: BCC by 20

Northwood (0-6) at Paint Branch (4-2) – The Gladiators fell  to Springbrook 49-6. As a team Northwood had 122 total yards and 1 TD.  The Panthers beat Blake 17-6. RB Roman Spikes ran for 104 yards in the victory. Prediction: Paint Branch by 46

Rockville (3-3) at Damascus (5-1) – The Rams hung tough for a half before falling to Blair 27-13. As a team Rockville ran for 195 yards.  The Swarmin’ Hornets took care of Clarksburg 54-12. As a team Damasucus rushed for 282 yards and 4 TDs. Prediction: Damascus by 24

Gaithersburg (2-4) at Quince Orchard (6-0) –  The Cougars shutout streak was ended by Richard Montgomery but QO won convincingly 56-7. RB Iverson Howard ran for 129 yards and 1 TD. The Trojans got back on track with a win over Watkins Mill 28-0. RB Gideon Ituka rushed for 238 yards and 3 TDs. Its Homecoming this Friday at the Cougardome! Prediction: Quince Orchard by 41

Richard Montgomery (3-3) at Walter Johnson (5-1) – The Rockets lost to Quince Orchard 56-7. RM passed for 128 yards and 1 TD in the loss. The Wildcats won in the last seconds to beat BCC 20-14 in a great game. QB Charlie Blessing passed for 167 yards and 2 TDs in the win. Prediction: Walter Johnson by 5

Churchill (4-2) at Poolesville (6-0)  The Bulldogs mauled rival Whitman 37-3. The Falcons took care of Catoctin 28-13 to remain undefeated. Montgomery County and Maryland’s leading rusher Evan Taylor continued to put up big numbers running for 345 yards and 2 TDs. Poolesville will face their toughest test of the season as Churchill visits. Prediction: Poolesville by 7

Blair (6-0) at Sherwood (4-2) – The Blazers are still hot, downing Rockville 27-13. RB Kam Reynolds ran for 96 yards and 2 TDs in the win. Sherwood fell to Northwest 24-0. QB Amari Allen passed for 65 yards in the loss. These two squads will meet in Olney this Friday in a huge matchup.  Prediction: Blair by 7

MoCoShow Game of the Week

Seneca Valley (5-1) at Northwest (2-4) – The Screamin’ Eagles shutout Wootton 38-0. The Jaguars blanked Sherwood 24-0. As a team NW ran for 138 yards and 4 TDs.  The Kings Trophy is on the line as these two rivals meet again in the Black Hole in Germantown in the MoCoShow Game of the Week. Prediction: Northwest by 2
