Bethesda

Just over a year ago, we let you know that New York City taco restaurant Tacombi is coming to 4749 Bethesda Ave. in downtown Bethesda. According to a report by Bethesda Beat, the restaurant plans to open at the end of this month.

Tacombi got its start in 2006 selling tacos in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico after they purchased a 1963 Volkswagen bus and converted it into a food stand. The restaurant made its move to New York in 2010. “As we looked outside of New York, we saw in Bethesda a community that has a lot of the life, activity, and the neighborhood quality that lets us best share the simple enjoyment of authentic Mexican taco culture.” Tacombi told Bethesda Beat last year.
