WOODMOORstock 2023 is happening on June 10th, 2023 (55 Bands, 11 stages)

Silver Spring’s Woodmoor neighborhood music festival, known as WOODMOORstock, will be held for the second consecutive year on Saturday, June 10 (rain date: June 11) from 12pm-6pm. Festival organizers have released the lineup and schedule below, which includes 55 bands who will be playing on 11 volunteer stages around the Woodmoor neighborhood.

Maps and programs, in addition to some limited quantities of Woodmoorstock merchandise, will be available for purchase online here, prior to and in-person during the event. This grassroots event celebrating local talent and music is back thanks to our dedicated and tireless core group of organizers and (new in ‘23) a group of generous and local sponsors. The event is organized and coordinated by volunteers who live in the Woodmoor neighborhood. Dozens of volunteers open up
their front porches and driveways in Woodmoor to the artists who will be playing all kinds of music for the public to enjoy.

Many of the inaugural WOODMOORstock performers are set to return this year, and nearly 40 great new additions to the lineup from all over DC Metro and Baltimore area, including: Pinky Lemon, Dot Dash, Sleeping on Saturn, The Grasso Brothers, Black Shag Sherpas, The Threetles, and many more.

The 55 local and regional bands playing at 11 stages for the community have all volunteered their time, talents and equipment to support the arts in Silver Spring. No bands at the festival are compensated for appearing at WOODMOORstock. This year’s WOODMOORstock music festival, dubbed WOODMOORstock II, has grown after 2022’s inaugural festival attracted 39 bands across 9 volunteer porch/stages and more than 2,000 festival goers. Over 50 volunteers and over 150 musicians of all ages will be making this year’s event possible.

Street closures and safety will be monitored by MCPD at the all-ages music festival. Food & beverage trucks will be onsite at the festival. Parking: Street parking is available, as is parking in local parking lots adjacent to Pinecrest Park (301 St. Lawrence Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20901). WOODMOORstock is fun for the whole family. Five or six food trucks will be serving food again this year to hungry festival goers all over the neighborhood. Dessert and beverage trucks will be there too.

NEW THIS YEAR: Record Exchange will set up a station during the festival on June 10th to sell records and CDs to WOODMOORstock music lovers. Local event organizers invite the public to join in to support Woodmoorstock II the
night before the event by joining the “Sound Check Trivia” fundraiser on Friday June 9th at 6 pm at 10205 Brookmoor DR., Silver Spring. Sound Check Trivia is an event (presented by Denizens Brewing Co. and hosted by Woodmoor’s trivia maestro Matt Andelman) organized to raise festival funds essential to running the show. Don’t miss this chance to also hear an exclusive acoustic set from Woodmoor resident
and WOODMOORstock performer Jason Orsin.

The day officially kicks off, Saturday June 10th, at noon, with a come-one-come-all drum circle at the Woodmoor Circle! Bring the kids and your own drums, maracas, buckets… anything to make some noise and help get the party started right!

Besides all of the musicians, host, and volunteers, WOODMOORstock organizers would like to thank the generous local businesses and organizations that are pitching in with financial or in-kind contributions this year. Sponsors have engaged and donated funds and in-kind contributions for equipment rentals, printing, signage and public facilities and permits.

Event sponsors: Woodmoor-Pinecrest Citizens Association, Woodmoor Cleaners, Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center, Rotary Club of Downtown Silver Spring, TTR Sotheby’s, Woodmoor Pastry Shop, Record Exchange and Denizens Brewing Company. In addition to sponsorship, several locally-owned businesses have provided in-kind donations for the 11
host stages along with merchandise, artistic contributions and partnership. Thanks go to the SportsExtra Online, Woodmoor Supermarket, Santucci’s Deli, the 4 Corners Pub, Bones Jones Music and Live from Dave’s House.
