Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested After Anonymous Tip

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 43-year-old Devin Byron Dorsey, of unknown address, with the Rockville armed robbery that occurred on Monday, October 2, 2023, after an anonymous tipster came forward and identified Dorsey based on a photograph posted on a MCPD news release. The tipster is now eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.

On Thursday, October 5, 2023, detectives obtained an arrest warrant against Dorsey, charging him with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault and theft less than $100.   On Saturday, October 14, 2023, Dorsey was arrested in Germantown and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.

The Montgomery County Police Department thanks the non-profit Crime Solver’s of Montgomery County for their assistance in supporting the mission of reducing crime in Montgomery County. Crime Solvers is a program designed to enlist the aid of the community in helping the Montgomery County Police Department solve crimes.
