Update: Student Stabbed at Springbrook High School; Four Students Charged


According to police, “Montgomery County Police patrol and Community Engagement Officers responded to Springbrook High School (201 Valley Brook Dr, Silver Spring) at approximately 11:28 a.m. for a stabbing that just occurred.

Upon arrival, Montgomery County Public Schools security had isolated four male students who had been involved in a fight that began inside of a school bathroom. One student was cut in the head and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One 17-year-old student has been charged with first-degree assault. Two other students involved in the fight were charged with second-degree assault, and one has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

The 17-year-old has been transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he awaits a bond hearing.” We will provide an update when additional information becomes available.
