Baby Bar to Close in Kentlands

Baby Bar, a concept that provides a space where parents can go with their young children to enjoy a space where they can each grab a bite and just play, will be closing its doors. Founder Carolynne  Nowrouzi made the announcement on Wednesday morning via Facebook.

The unique concept opened at 375 Main St. in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood this past summer. Nowrouzi was raised in MoCo and looked to offer “food, fun, and socializing” where “you enjoy a coffee and a bite, while your little ones get yummy food and a baby-friendly place to play!” Her announcement via Facebook states that she has made the decision to not renew the lease so she can spend more time with her family and working on her other business. The last day of business will be Saturday, December 2. The announcement can be seen in full below:
“Hi FB community!!!, Baby Bar’s last day in business will be Saturday, December 2, 2023. I have decided not to renew the lease so I can spend more time with my family and work on my other business. I had no idea how amazing (but time-consuming!) this experience would be. I feel so lucky that this little idea I had a year ago would benefit so many moms, dads and caregivers in the community!! The feedback and friendships I have made in the last 7 months of being open are the reason I opened the café.
I am sorry that I won’t be able to continue to operate at this time.
