The Container Store Sets Opening Date

Back in August we let you know that the Container Store, which currently has one Montgomery County location at 1601 Rockville Pike in Congressional Plaza, will be opening a second Montgomery County location in Gaithersburg. The store has now set an opening date.

Initially aiming for a “Winter 2023” opening, the store later announced a March opening and has announced a specific date of March 2, 2024, according to signage in the window of the new location. It will be located at 201 Ellington Blvd. in Downtown Crown, next to Woodhouse Day Spa and across from the recently closed Old Town Pour House Space. The store is about 80% full of products as of Sunday morning.

The retailer specializes in storage, home office organizers and organization supplies, including custom closets and shelving systems. It provides an experience-driven shopping destination with more than 11,000 organizational products offered.

The Rockville location is approximately 24,000 SF and the small format stores, that the company announced it will be opening more of, tend to be approximately 15,000 SF- closer to the size of the upcoming Gaithersburg location.
