A Rockville woman is $50,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery scratch-off ticket from the Food Stop Mini Mart at 4820 Boiling Brook Parkway in Rockville. Full story below courtesy of the Maryland Lottery:

A Montgomery County woman who said she plays scratch-offs occasionally walked away with big money in her pocket after scratching off a $50,000 winning ticket she bought last weekend.

The lucky lady was out running errands with her husband when good fortune came her way. The mother of two had stopped at Food Stop Mini Mart in Rockville to purchase a few items when she noticed the Maryland Lottery scratch-off display and decided to buy three $5 Cash Multiplier tickets. And as she scratched them off in the store, she got quite a surprise.

“When I saw the $50,000 prize, I thought, ‘this can’t be,'” said the winner. “Then I scanned it and it showed that It was really a win.”

The Rockville resident showed her husband who was also in shock.

“This is so amazing,” he said as the couple visited the Lottery’s office in Baltimore this week.

The couple left the store quietly to go home and secure the ticket before making arrangements to claim the prize. The big winner, who works as a personal shopper, said that she’d like to use her prize money to put toward a new home for her family.

Also celebrating this win is the Food Stop Mini Mart located at 4820 Boiling Brook Parkway in Rockville. The Lottery retailer will collect a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off ticket.
