Gaithersburg Police Confirms That Man Killed By Train Thursday Night Was the Suspect in Domestic-Related Stabbing Earlier That Night

Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section have confirmed that the pedestrian struck by a train last night was the suspect involved in the domestic-related stabbing that occurred in the 500 block of Girard Street in Gaithersburg. The female victim in the stabbing incident is currently in stable condition.

According to police, the name of the suspect will not be released as they have not been charged. Any information related to the pedestrian struck should be directed to the Montgomery County Police – Public Information Office as their investigators investigate all death-related incidents.

The original news release from Thursday night can be seen here: “Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 500 block of Girard Street in Gaithersburg.

On Thursday, February 22, 2024 at approximately 8:59 p.m., officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and Montgomery County Police Department responded to the 500 block of Girard Street for the report of a stabbing that just occurred. Officers located a 51-years-old female victim suffering from lacerations. Officers provided first-aid until Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and transported her to an area hospital in critical condition.
The suspect, an adult male, fled the scene prior to police arrival.

At 9:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of E. Diamond Avenue and Railroad Street for the report of a pedestrian struck. The description of the pedestrian matched that of the suspect involved in the stabbing.”
