We received a few messages by surprised customers who were unaware that the restaurant would be closing, but were able to confirm this morning that Friday, February 23rd was the restaurant’s final day. The Aspen Hill location remains open.

The brand opened its first location in Tampa in 1988. It was founded by Montgomery County native Chris T. Sullivan and first opened in Montgomery County in the early 90s. Below you’ll see a quote from a Washington Post review of the restaurant.

“Well, we finally did it. After months of hearing about the hour-long waits to get into the Outback, we screwed up our courage and went. Did we wait? Yes.. At 7 p.m. on a Thursday, it took 90 minutes to get a table.” The Post writer returned to check it out on a weekend and was seated at 10pm for a late dinner to avoid the wait.
