One Dead Following Early Saturday Morning Collision


Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early this morning in Chevy Chase.

According to police, “On Saturday, March 9, 2024, at approximately 12:19 a.m., 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Connecticut Avenue near Quincy Street for the report of a fatal traffic collision involving two vehicles.

The preliminary investigation has determined that a white Mercedes and a white GMC Laredo pickup truck were traveling northbound on Connecticut Avenue when, for reasons unknown at this time, they collided near Quincy Street. The male driver of the Laredo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The adult passenger of the Laredo and the driver of the Mercedes were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Montgomery County Department of Police -Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this fatality.”
