Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire alarm at Paint Branch High School on Sunday at approximately 4pm, according to a Monday morning update by Chief spokesperson Pete Piringer.

Per Piringer, the fire occurred in a second floor administrative office and was extinguished by the sprinkler system prior to the arrival of MCFRS units. The origin/cause of the fire was an electric space heater that was located under a desk.

The building was unoccupied when the fire occurred and the fire was contained to the small area under the desk. There were no injuries, but there is significant water damage to both the second floor where the office is located and the floor below.
