Everclear, the alternative rock band whose career spans four decades and many memorable hits, will headline the City of Rockville’s Hometown Holidays Music Fest on Memorial Day weekend at RedGate Park.

The annual free festival takes place from noon-7 p.m. Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 at RedGate Park, 14500 Avery Road. It will feature two stages of entertainment, food and beverages, and activities for kids.

Emerging from the 1990s alternative scene, Everclear’s career includes 11 studio releases and over 6 million records sold on the strength of 12 top-40 singles, including “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” “I Will Buy You a New Life,” “Wonderful” and “Everything to Everyone.”

Everclear takes the stage on Sunday evening to put an exclamation point on two days of entertainment that feature local, regional and national acts, including BonJourney, Capital Effect, 8 Ohms Band, the U.S. Navy Band Commodores, The JoGo Project, The Reflex, SoulTET, Brent & Co., Poehemia, FeelFree, and DeSanguashington. Kid-friendly features include music by Kidsinger Jim and an animal show by Ferrets and Friends.

Kick off your shoes and kick off summer with your feet in the sand at two sand pits, join a game of cornhole, or take a morning yoga class with Thrive Yoga from 9-10 a.m. Sunday at the RedGate Stage. Find the full schedule of entertainment and additional festival details at www.rockvillemd.gov/HTH.

A free shuttle will run between Rockville Town Center and the festival. The city’s 80th annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, May 27, in Rockville Town Center, will cap off the weekend.
