A Montgomery Village resident is $10,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket from the 7-Eleven at 19235 Watkins Mill Road. Full story below courtesy MDLottery:

An avionics technician from Montgomery County has a set of Mega Millions and Powerball numbers, chosen at random initially, that he plays every week at a nearby 7-Eleven. On March 19, the loyal player bought one $3 ticket with Power Play for the March 20 drawing and wound up with a $100,000 payday.

The loyal player bought the ticket at 7-Eleven #28813 located at 19235 Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg. The mechanics enthusiast matched four white balls and the Powerball, which brings a $50,000 third-tier prize. The Power Play number for that drawing was X2, doubling his initial win for a grand total of $100,000.

The Montgomery Village resident didn’t make a big fuss about his Lottery luck. He kept quiet, only sharing the news with his wife. His plan for his newfound fortune is to pay off a few small bills. When he’s not working or playing Lottery games, he enjoys spending his time working on electronics.

No one has hit the jackpot since Jan. 1, giving players a chance to win an estimated jackpot annuity of $1.3 billion in the Saturday, April 6 drawing. The estimated cash option (before taxes) is $608.9 million. Maryland has welcomed 19 third-tier Powerball winners of $50,000 to $150,000 in 2024.
