A 18,422 square foot home located at 15325 Masonwood Drive is currently pending with a listing price of $5.5 million. If the home ends up selling above $3,099,950, which is likely based on the price of the listing, it would be the highest recorded sale in Bright MLS for the Gaithersburg area (zip codes 20697, 20877, 20878, 20879, 20884, 20885, 20899, and others).

Currently, the highest recorded sale for the greater Gaithersburg area, including Darnestown and North Potomac, is 12126 Hanson Farm Dr. in Gaithersburg/N. Potomac (the house is listed as both). The house, which was a new construction, sold for $3,099,950 in September 2022 (information courtesy of realtor David Zeff).

The Masonwood Drive home has been on and off the market since 2011. It was built in 2004 and was purchased for $2,050,497 later that year. In August 2011, it was first listed for $9,900,000. It was then removed and listed again several times over the last 13 years for $8 million, $7 million, $7.6 million, $8 million, $6.375 million, $5.9 million, and finally $5.5 million December 2022. It is currently listed by Corey Burr with TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.

The home is described as “Magnificent, private, gated, country club-style living on 34+ acres. Features include over 18,000 SF of living space, 9-hole golf course, pool, sport court, wine cellar, fitness center, sauna/spa area, theater, summer kitchen and fabulous stone terraces, ballroom, 4 fireplaces, 8 bedrooms, 9 baths, multi-zoned geothermal heating/cooling system and new kitchen completed in 2018.

There was another contract on the property in May 2022, but that fell through in August 2022. Between that contract and the current contract, the home was available for sale for a combined 1,048 days in Bright MLS, according to Zeff. The final sale price will be revealed when the sale closes- currently scheduled for June 20th, but subject to change.
